HI EVERYONE!

Our 3rd day of screenings here at “SPACE O” event space in Omotesando Hills turned out o be a hot & humid Saturday here in Tokyo.

We had near capacity crowds throughout the day that started with the NON FICTION PROGRAM 3, followed by the Kawagoe City Program.

Following the screening of NON FICTION PROGRAM 3, I hosted the director, producer & director of music for a short titled “OBUSEBITO,” a magical guide through the small but robust town of Obuse in Nagano Prefecture. A major ski area in winter, the documentary highlights the efforts of the town to raise recognition & name value through modern sports like slackfline & snowboarding as well as featuring some of the cultural attractions of the area.

When asked by the audience, director Kazuhito Takazawa revealed that he spent a total of about 15 days filming mostly through the winter. His long-time collaborator, music composer & guitarist Masanori Narikawa told us that when he 1st tried to go to Obuse to get a feel for the town, the roads were blocked due to extreme heavy snowfall!

We’re here until Sunday all before we move on down the street to Laforest for another week of screenings from 06/13 – 06/17.
